What is a Customs Free Zone?

A Customs Free Zone (CFZ) is a defined and authorized area where goods can be introduced without immediate application of customs duties and VAT.

Permitted activities include storage, usual handling, processing, and transformation.

Goods are subject to taxation only when released for circulation within the domestic market. The Cagliari Free Zone is a “closed” CFZ, supervised by the Customs Agency and accessible only to authorized businesses.

It provides companies with operational simplifications, tax advantages, and a regulated, transparent environment.
